Daphne von Dienst is the sweetest 3 year old German Shepherd on the smaller side.

Hi, I'm Daphne (although some volunteers call me 'Little Bear' because my ears have been chewed up a bit which gives me that 'bear' look.) You see, I'm from the Central Valley and my previous owners didn't take care of me at all and let the flies chew on my ears. Somehow I ended up at the shelter where I quickly ran out of time. I tried to catch people's eyes, but nobody looks at a small, scruffy looking shepherd with chewed up ears. But I held my head up high and kept thinking positive thoughts. Luckily the shelter staff loved me and called Westside as a last resort to see if they would take me. Next thing I know I am being loaded up into the freedom van and here I am, looking forward to moving into a loving home! On the way to Westside the volunteer told me we have many wonderful adopters who don't care about perfect ears, they just want a sweet new buddy - Hey, that's me!!. I am smaller than a standard shepherd, maybe 45-50 pounds if that! I love people and I am good with other dogs. I can't remember if I like cats or not, but will subject myself to a test if needed. I will be the perfect fit in a house or apartment/condo! Will you come meet me soon?
